The KUNZ WIS Wheel Inspection Stand is a purpose-built universal workstand designed to lift and rotate aircraft wheels to an ergonomic working height for a thorough and convenient inspection process.
Mounted on a solid steel frame fixed to the floor, the WIS lifts aircraft wheels up to 300 kg (660 lb) with a lift stroke of 800 mm (31.5 in). The operation is completely smooth and noiseless, and the stand accommodates all wheel diameters between 610 mm (24 in) and 1,574 mm (62 in) – covering the full range of commercial aircraft wheels from narrow-body jets to wide-body aircraft.
Wheel clamping, lifting and lowering are performed hydraulically via levers at the rear of the stand. The electrically driven rotation is controlled via a foot pedal, and all contact points are fitted with rollers to prevent surface friction and damage during rotation.
Inspecting an aircraft wheel on the floor is time-consuming, physically demanding and makes a thorough check of the full wheel surface difficult. The KUNZ Wheel Inspection Stand solves this directly.
By lifting the wheel to an ergonomic working height and enabling full 360° rotation at the press of a foot pedal, the WIS ensures that every part of the wheel surface, bearing area and brake flange is clearly accessible and easily inspectable – without the operator needing to crouch, kneel or manually manoeuvre the wheel.
With a diameter range of 610 mm to 1,574 mm and a maximum load capacity of 300 kg, the KUNZ WIS covers the complete range of commercial aircraft wheels.
The KUNZ WIS combines hydraulic and electric drive for a smooth, controlled and noiseless working experience.
Wheel clamping, lifting and lowering are performed hydraulically via levers at the rear of the stand, providing precise, stepless height adjustment throughout the full 800 mm lift stroke.
The wheel rotation is driven electrically and controlled via a dedicated foot pedal, keeping both hands free for inspection tasks. All contact points are fitted with rollers to protect the wheel surface throughout the rotation.
For installations where the standard rear lever position is not practical, an optional configuration with levers at the right or left side of the housing is available.
Universal Compatibility:
The KUNZ WIS accommodates all commercial aircraft wheel diameters from 610 mm (24 in) to 1,574 mm (62 in) without additional adapters – a single machine for your entire fleet.
Optional Lever Position:
Alternative lever positions at the right or left side of the housing are available for installations where the standard rear position does not suit the workshop layout.
