• KUNZ UTS NGtronic dual spindle nut runner | Aircraft wheel torquing

KUNZ UTS NGtronic® - Universal Torquing System

Key Tasks

  • Automated torquing of aircraft wheel bolts and nuts with electronic torque and angle control
  • CMM-compliant torque sequence management with digital readout and data logging
  • Dual-spindle nut runner for improved efficiency – torques two bolts simultaneously
  • Error retention by indicating correct bolt pairs and preventing torque of wrong bolt pairs

Overview

The KUNZ UTS NGtronic® is an advanced electronic torquing solution for aircraft wheel assembly and disassembly. With automatic torque and angle control, digital readout and integrated data logging, the UTS NGtronic® delivers repeatable, documented and CMM-compliant torque application on every cycle.

The system is mountable on the dual overhead swivel beam of the KUNZ UAS, providing full compatibility with all wheel sizes supported by the UAS. The dual-spindle nut runner torques two bolts simultaneously, significantly reducing overall assembly time.

Built-in software guides the operator step by step through the correct CMM torque sequence, preventing errors and ensuring full traceability. Work orders can be retrieved via barcode scanner or RFID card and all data integrates with the KUNZ Wheel & Brake Shop Software. Remote maintenance support is available for issue resolution and software updates.

Precision Torquing – Repeatable, Documented and CMM-Compliant

Manual torquing of aircraft wheel bolts is time-consuming, physically demanding and prone to human error. The KUNZ UTS NGtronic® replaces this process with a controlled, automated and fully documented torquing system that delivers the same result every time.

The built-in software guides the operator through the exact CMM-required torque sequence, locking out incorrect inputs and providing digital confirmation at each step. The result is a maintenance process that is not only faster and safer, but fully auditable.

It emits significantly less vibration than conventional impact wrenches, resulting in smoother handling and better control. At the same time, it ensures less strain on the operator and nuts, reducing fatigue and minimizing wear on components. Additionally, the KUNZ UTS NGtronic® generates less carbon dust, contributing to a cleaner and safer working environment.

KUNZ UAS + UTS NGtronic Workstation | Aircraft Wheel Assembly / Disassembly

Seamless Integration with the KUNZ UAS - Universal Assembly / Disassembly Stand

Mounted on the dual overhead swivel beam of the KUNZ UAS, the KUNZ UTS NGtronic® forms the centrepiece of a fully integrated wheel assembly workstation. The hydraulic lift and rotation of the UTS NGtronic® allows the operator to move to the next bolt pair effortlessly, while the optional retraction device lifts only the spindles for even faster positioning.

Together, the KUNZ UAS and UTS NGtronic® represent the state of the art in aircraft wheel assembly – combining ergonomic handling, process reliability and unmatched traceability in a single system.

Optional Retraction Device:

The optional retraction device eliminates the need to hydraulically lift the entire UTS NGtronic® unit when moving to the next bolt pair. Instead, only the spindles are lifted and lowered onto the next bolt pair – saving time and reducing operator fatigue during high-volume assembly.

KUNZ Wheel & Brake Shop Software Integration:

All torque data recorded by the UTS NGtronic® can be directly exported to and managed within the KUNZ Wheel & Brake Shop Software, providing a seamless end-to-end documentation solution for the entire wheel maintenance process.
